my husband leads canoe trips and goes on crazy kayaking and canoing adventures and was talking about this portable gps system that also gave real time weather reports etc from anywhere, even when he’s in the middle of nowhere with no phone etc. i am not sure where to find this or where to even begin looking for it! does anyone know what he may have been thinking of or where i could find one for xmas?

Im an out doors kinda guy, off roading, fishing, hunting looking for ghost towns in the middle of no where, you get the point. However i notice my gps sucks at this or is it me. I have a tomtom and it doesn’t seem to do great with coordinates off road? Am i right or i just not know how to use it correctly? Do i need to invest in a different gps like a eTrex or something?

i dont want to spend over $100 on a gps unit and i’ve seen some at wal-mart within my price range will those work for geocaching?
